One of Etnosoi!'s this year's main concerts will present two masters of Turkish stringed instruments and renovators of Turkish traditional music, Erkan Ogur and Ismail Hakki Demircioglu.

Reserve your tickets in advance in order to make sure that you won't miss this meditative, mystical and definitely memorable concert.

Erkan Ogur is a unique musician, admired by many great guitarists (e.g. Pat Metheny). He invented the first classical fretless guitar in order to be able to play microtonal Turkish melodies. The musician has said that developing the fretless guitar was a turning point in his life; there were no more boundaries in guitar playing after that. He introduced the fretless guitar also to blues.

Ogur is also a master with different lutes, kopuz and baglama. The musician, also known from the Telvin Trio, has played an influential role in the evolution of contemporary Turkish music. He is not just an archivist of the traditional repertoire, but also aims to keep the Turkish music alive and vivid.

Ogur has played together with bass vocalist and master of baglama, Ismail Hakki Demircioglu since the 1980's. The musician, having also gratuated from the State Conservatory of Istanbul, has sang and played bass and baglama in many different groups and choirs.
In concert in addition to virtuosic playing you will hear very effective use of voice.
